Dessert buffets have become one of the hottest trends for birthday parties, weddings, corporate events, and other celebrations. Yet, not everyone is fond of the traditionally rainbow, vibrant, juvenile appearance of your typical (kid's) candy buffets. Therefore, nowadays many people are switching to a wide variety of elegant desserts. This way it matches their decor and color scheme, but also wows their guests!

A few items that have become a real hit are…

Mini Cupcakes; A perfect bite-sized treat that not only looks beautiful, but taste great as well. Mini cupcakes are just enough to satisfy anyones sweet tooth for the night!

Cake Pops; A form of cake that comes in the style of a lollipop. The middle is cake and then it is coated with a rich layer of chocolate to form a hard outside shell. Cake pops makes for a mess free enjoyment and they are ideal for any party!

Chocolate Covered Pretzels; Pretzels that come coated in either white chocolate or milk chocolate that combine to form a sensationally flavor of sweet and salty. A treat that all guest will appreciate!

Mini Cannoli; An Italian pastry that consist of a fried pastry dough and then is filled with a sweet, creamy filling. Cannoli can be savored by just about any and everyone. They are a great dessert for any buffet!

Rainbow Cookies; A particular variety of this confection, known primarily by various regional names listed below, is with layers of brightly colored, almond-based sponge cakeapricot and/or raspberry jam, and a chocolate coating. Many bakeries sell them by the pound, and because of the many layers, these cookies tend to be somewhat heavy estimating in about fifteen to a pound.

Biscotti; known also as cantuccini, are Italian almond biscuits (cookies) that originated in the city of Prato. They are twice-baked, oblong-shaped, dry, crunchy, and dipped in a drink

Mousse; Dessert mousses are typically made with whipped egg whites or whipped cream, flavored with chocolate, coffee, caramel, puréed fruits or various herbs and spices, such as mint or vanilla.

Here at SugarPop's, we now not only offer candy, popcorn, s'mores, and chocolate buffets (bars), but also dessert tables and buffets. Depending on the size of the group, most of our buffets can be blended, meaning popcorn can be added to a traditional candy table, or chocolate covered items can be added to a dessert table. weddingbagsblog1Over the past 20 years, the American worker has moved to where the career takes them.  We have become a very migrant nation, because jobs are not just down the street anymore. Many brides and grooms find many of their family and friends live out of state, or maybe just a bit “out of town”.  With that said, the couple must think about treating their guests with a goodie bag for all of their traveling.  A well-thought out wedding bag is always a welcomed treat.  Not only does it say thanks, but leaves a thoughtful lasting memory for your guests.

So what are the essentials for the perfect Wedding Welcome Bag for guests? Here are the top 6 suggestions to make a big impact for a little price.

Go Local

When your guests come in from out of town, make your bags special by providing them with some local flair. So options can be hand-made soap, honey, and maybe even lip balm.

All of this travel makes your guests hungry. Give them food! Some great options can be popcorn, cotton candy, chocolate, or pretzels!

Depending on where you are, usually some water and maybe a soda will suffice. Don’t overthink this one.

Make it look pretty

The bag is what they are going to see first. When your guests arrive, first impression is very important.  The bag needs to be nice, but not overdone or gaudy.  Keep it simple. Remember, the important stuff is inside!

This is a big one.  Who’s wedding is it? Where are we? Do we know these people? All very important questions that can be answered with some simple personalization. Plus, it makes everything look nicer.

Give them information

So most out of town guests have little knowledge of the area.  Something that can be helpful to your guests is a local map, a town/county guide, and a local magazine.  They will appreciate the help.

So there you have it.  These tips can help you navigate the chaos of planning a wedding. Remember, its your day, but you want to make sure your wedding guests are happy. Welcome Wedding bags make a great first impression.  Make sure you stuff them with all of the right goodies.

Now, if you don’t want to do it alone, feel free to call us to help you out! Wedding Welcome Bags from SugarPop's

Spring is here and many brides are getting ready for their Weddings coming up over the next few months.  Here at SugarPop’s Candy we get into our busy season with candy buffets.  So why are candy buffets still hot? One reason is because candy never goes out of style!  One of the strongest trends we see this year is what we call combination sweet tables. Brides and grooms want their Wedding to be special. They want it to be different than the last Wedding they went to just months earlier.  For the larger Weddings, we always recommend the sweets table consist of candy, chocolate, popcorn, and even s’mores! With that said, we don’t recommend getting every single piece of candy and treat on one table because it just wouldn’t look good. And everyone knows that candy buffets are also used for decoration.  We want our sweets and beauty, but not too much of both.  So, when we speak with couples, we try to talk to them about choosing two of the four choices. So for instance, you can combine a candy table with some popcorn, or popcorn with chocolate. Some people choose the option of two separate tables altogether. Meaning they will have a 100-person candy buffet, with a 100-person popcorn buffet at their Wedding.  Many times we don’t have to “combine” both buffets because they are viewed as separate treats.   However, when done correctly, any combination can be made to look amazing with the rights colors and theme.  So remember, when planning your treat, sweet, or candy table think about what you want and the rest will fall into place.
